YLSCH-RBB® Rubber Accelerator HEXA-80 is a mixture of 80% hexamethylene tetramine and 20% EPDM/EVA/SBR binder. This accelerator is used for the vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubbers, and also functions as a formaldehyde donor. YLSCH-RBB® HEXA-80 finds application as a formaldehyde donor in resorcinol-based adhesive compounds such as carcasses of steel-cord tires, in slow-curing mixes, thick-walled articles, roller coverings, and light-colored and transparent vulcanizates.

YLSCH-RBB®HEXA-80 is a slightly basic accelerator for slow vulcanization.

It causes the cure to start almost as soon as it has been added.

The rate of cure as a whole is fairly slow.

YLSCH-RBB®HEXA -80 provides a high degree of cross-linking.

Mixes containing Rhenogran HEXA-80 receive activation and secondary acceleration from mercapto, sulphenamide, thiuram and dithiocarbamate accelerators.

YLSCH-RBB®HEXA-80, in combination with resorcinol, is especially used as as a formaldehyde donor for the rubber-tometal bonding (steel cords). Rubber-to-metal bonding is favourably influ- enced by the excellent dispersion of the granulated chemical.

The addi- tional use of an antioxidant is recommanded to improve the resistance to ageing of vulcanizates, which have been accelerated by YLSCH-RBB®HEXA-80. Generally blooming does not occur.
